celebrating 1 year of owning our lovely house. we ate dinner on the porch surrounded by lots of fire flies and reminisced about all the hard work we have put into the house in the last year to make it our home. when we were looking for houses, i found it to be a pretty stressful process and always wondered if people were exaggerating when they said you will just know when it is the right house. we must have looked at the inside of our house for only ten minutes before walking outside, sitting down on the porch and then it totally happened, i knew it was our house. it was always my dream to have a big front porch for people to gather and hang out on just like when i was a kid. i was so happy recently when our good friends came to visit and all ten of us were eating dinner on the porch and laughing the night away.
+a very happy birthday to my wonderful mother!

That sounds beautiful. I've always hoped for the same kind of thing - my wishlist has always included a veranda all the way around the house, and cool wooden floors.
ReplyDeletewow, one year already?! I feel like it was yesterday when you announced you had bought it. A big congratulations, and here's to many more years of summer evenings on that porch.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! The second i saw a PHOTO of my house i knew it was the one. :) always feels good to remember that when working so hard on it!
