I realize I am a little late on this, but I thought I would share some of my favorite gifts I got for Christmas. The best gift of all is this old 1940's work desk that my husband got for me. I was just using a table before and to be honest, it was one big mess all the time, which is a problem since my workspace is also our dining room. Now all my jewelry and sewing supplies have a happy home and I will hopefully be able to keep better organized (one of my many new years resolutions!). He also got me this amazing paper cutter. I make all my own tags, business cards, etc. for my shops from recycled paper and this whole time I have been using a cheep plastic cutter that barely works. I also just had to throw in the last photo because it is my favorite part above my desk, but it got cut off in the other photos. They are photos of my grandmothers and my mother, the women who inspire me most! My shops are named after my grandmother in the large photos.

Pretty new earrings from Cursive Design, also from the husband.

I am super excited about these last two pieces that I got from my family. I have wanted a black leather jacket for a while, but I really don't like to buy new leather. I am thrilled that it is fake leather, but looks somewhat real (from H&M). Since I am a vegetarian, I somehow make myself feel better if I only buy secondhand leather goods (I realize that might sound crazy). The other piece is a lovely silk blouse from Jcrew that I got from my sweet little cousin. It is not a top that I would normally buy for myself, but what girl can resist a pretty silk blouse. I love how it looks with my new longer hand cast brass necklace that will be in the winter collection.

Thanks again to everyone for all the wonderful presents!

  12. Awww! I LOVE your workspace! And I severely covet that white hobnob lamp and PAPER CUTTER. Sigh. What I wouldn't give for my very own, hardcore paper cutter. You're a lucky, lucky gal.
