progress and heartbreak. i spent the week painting vintage wood beads a variety of peach colors and carving larger crystals for some new necklaces i am working on. when i went to cast the crystals last night, we ended up having some unforeseen issues with the equipment and nothing turned out. it was nobody's fault, but i couldn't help wanting to cry. i hand carve each little crystal to be one of a kind, which means a lot of time and some serious neck pain. i went to bed really upset and asking myself, "what's the point of all this?" when i woke up this morning i decided i would just put it out there and move on. i think it is important to let emotions go, even when it seems impossible. i still love carving the crystals and plan to make more in the future. for now i am just really glad it is friday! wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

  6. I think your attitude of letting emotions go is a good one. I often find myself bottling up too many things inside, and I don't even realise I am torturing myself.

Hearing you say that, feels like coming up for air.

I hope you have a great weekend too.

  8. That sucks, Stephanie! It's so frustrating to spend that much time on a project only to have it end unsuccessfully. Hang in there, and on to even better things! I hope you enjoy your weekend :)

  9. i'm so sorry dear! i know the feeling, i've been dealing with that lately with illustrating; working really hard on something and then you realize its ugly.. you have to move on and throw it away. i have to remind my self that the work was not a waste of time, it helped me to get where i am and i will learn from my mistakes.
    xx
    good luck! don't give up.

  12. oh my I am really sorry...that it is really annoying when you sit over something for hours, already having a picture in your head how it could look like and it doesn't turn out to be like this...But you know there will be other beautiful beautiful things you will create...and I am pretty sure about this : )
I hope you had a wonderful weekend anyways..and didn't let such a thing get you too down...
